About her work
A self-taught artist, Sarita Chouhan works in abstract modes and her works embody the spirit of minimalism: “Art practice allows for the space to go within: it is like writing your journal, but instead of words: with lines and forms. I draw or create intuitively and I let my creative impulses unfold mostly in series of works, which are inter-related.
I believe as an artist, even a floating cloud could be as much of an inspiration as some patterns in an old cracked wall…
My interest in Yoga, spirituality and nature all coalesce into forms I create. They constitute a constant search for Self in this vast Universe, looking at both the microcosm and the macrocosm.”
