Tantra Song (after Franck Andre Jamme's book title)
An oft-misunderstood esoteric branch of religious philosophy across Hindusim, Jainism and Buddhism; Tantra doctrines lay stress on self-awareness, eroticism, rituals, magic and meditative practice. A meditation on sacred Tantric images can heighten consciousness and lead the mind into the metaphysical epiphany of the universe…
The visual iconography of Tantra painting is diverse, Jaipur having been an important hearth. In this series, we focus on abstract Tantra images - vintage and contemporary. The ovoid Hiranyagarbha, the golden womb or the cosmic egg, is regarded as the beginning point of creation. Kundalini Shakti, in the form of a coiled serpent, represents the dormant spiritual energy within us. We also features some Mantra based and (Jain) cosmological drawings.
This is a small teaser from our rich and diverse collection of varied Tantric styles from Jaipur, feel free to connect with us for a dekko!
