Artist’s Statement:
I have been fascinated with Tarp, the humble street-side material, and its omnipresent nature in Mumbai, especially during the Monsoon. These photographs, shot in suburban Mumbai document the all-pervasive nature of tarp in the city, and portray how it interacts with the city, its bazaars, its trees, foliage and people. Some of them also operate within the matrix of abstract beauty that Tarp rooftops create in the city-jungle.
