The unassuming simple Lal Paad encapsulates a bold message in its Jamdani Palla...
The iconic traffic symbol STOP is designed to arrest movement and halt traffic. Allied symbols like the (-) indicating NO ENTRY, and the (X) sign fulfill similar functions.
The Stop symbol has been appropriated by feminist discourse as a symbol of refusal, and to set personal boundaries — rejecting violence, harassment, discrimination and the policing of women's bodies. It argues impactfully for consent, making refusal boldly visible.
Borrowing from this usage, this capsule collection of Sarees radically transforms everyday icons and clothing into a small but significant acts of resistance.
The icons on these Sarees shift from creating ideas of road safety to advocating greater safety for women.
