Bhairavi (Consort of Bhairav, Mahavidya)
Watercolour on cartridge paper
15.7 x 11.7” / 40 x 29.5 cms
Consort of Bhairav, and one of the Mahavidyas of Tantra (associated with knowledge), Bhairavi is beyond sound. She exists in triads and once these triads are transcended, Brahman is attained. Once we have her grace, we can realize Shiva consciousness, hence she is called Tripurabhairavi.
Abhijeet Roy is a self taught artist with Bengali roots and a sharp inclination towards Shakta traditions and Tantra, that are the major inspirations depicted in a contemporary art style in his work.
