Ajrakh - the intricate, craft-intensive block printing technique - has always crossed geographical and cultural borders on the western frontiers of India. This collection explores how today, Ajrakh printing accommodates even broader international and conceptual references - from Japanese art, to Art-Deco architecture, to abstract motifs.
A note on the fabric: Though not a natural fabric, Modal (viscose) is versatile for its use across seasons. Its light-weight and breathable character, soft silky texture, and moisture wicking properties make it a plausible fabric even for the Indian summer.
