Bandeep Singh is a self-taught photographer.  He is currently working as the Group Photo Editor for the India Today Group of Publications. He is a reputed editorial photographer and his images have been published in Time, Fortune, The New York Times, Business Week, Business Today, and numerous other publications.

Though he is best known for his portraiture, Bandeep’s personal photographic work is conceptual and explores themes around the body and eroticism. His work is deeply influenced by his cultural leanings and his deep interest in mysticism and Sufi poetry.

He has had five solo shows of his works and his images have been exhibited in numerous group shows.

Bandeep has been on the jury of the India Habitat Centre Grant for Photography for more than 10 years and part of the core organising team of Photosphere Photography Festival. He has an academic interest in photography and often speaks on issues related to photography and the visual arts.  In 2004, he was the recipient of the Charles Wallace India Trust Award in photography. In 2018 & 2019, his images won the Gold Award at the WAN IFRA Asia Media Awards.

His works are in the permanent collection of the Essl Museum of Contemporary Art, Vienna; The Nirankari Museum of Faith, Delhi and in several private collections in India and abroad.

Bandeep Singh lives and works in New Delhi.
