The arrival of the Pixel has altered the very foundation of human existence, in an ever-changing digital environment. New identities are being constantly forged on past foundations. This series concerns itself with the emergence of a new visual language, a narrative that borrows and builds upon existing ones and speaks of how our perception of the world is in a state of constant transition.

From glitches to pixelation to geometry that morph into each other, this is an attempt to unpack some of the complexities of contemporary existence in an age of blurring boundaries and an ever-flattening world. The artist attempts to visualise the emergence of this new entity, in the form of a mutated reflection/ image that is part-physical, part-digital. This entity is consequently shedding/ altering traditional definitions of cast, creed, gender, nationality; values that once defined identity, as evident in the source images of these works from the Kalakriti Archives which have been thus decontextualised.
