____________________

The exact location depicted in this engraving is a highly romanticized, composite mixture rather than a geographically accurate site. While the print is explicitly labeled "at Delhi" and references Emperor Jahangir, historians and art experts note that no such palace built by Jahangir exists in Delhi. The work is believed to be a heavily altered, stylized representation of the famous Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah Baoli in New Delhi.
